3 Signs of Healthy Facial Skin According to a Skincare Expert

Mahkatop — Healthy facial skin not only boosts one’s self-confidence but also provides a fresh and radiant look without the need for makeup. Dr. Yessica Tania, a skincare and aesthetics expert, revealed three key signs that indicate healthy facial skin. Here are the details she shared at the Eureka Fest 2024.

1. Even Skin Tone

An even skin tone is a primary sign of healthy skin. This means there is no redness or spots like melasma, which can be caused by excessive sun exposure. Dr. Yessica emphasized that having an even skin tone does not mean the skin has to be white. “The natural skin color just needs to be even. Are there any peeling skin areas or bumps like acne?” said Yessica.

2. Smooth to the Touch

A smooth texture is another indicator of healthy facial skin. Many people strive to eliminate any texture on their face using various products and treatments, but there are still misconceptions about pores. “Pores are very helpful for our skin as they serve as outlets for oil and sweat. Imagine if there were no pores, where would it all go?” explained Yessica. Healthy skin is free from bumps, blackheads, and skin tumors, making it feel smooth to the touch.

3. Moisturized Skin

Moist and elastic skin is another sign of healthy facial skin. The skin’s natural oils help maintain its suppleness, supported by normal collagen production. To check if your skin is adequately moisturized, gently pinch your skin and release it. If it returns to its original position within less than two seconds, your skin is sufficiently moisturized.

By understanding these three signs, you can more easily assess and maintain the health of your facial skin. Proper skincare will help keep your face healthy and glowing at all times.(*)
