Mahkatop — PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has won the “Indonesia Best Bank For Diversity and Inclusion” award at the Euromoney Awards For Excellence 2024. The award ceremony was held in London on July 18, 2024.
BTN is the only Indonesian bank to receive an award at this prestigious event this year. The award was accepted by the Head of BTN Jakarta Region 2, Iriska Dewayani, along with the Head of the Human Capital Strategy Division (HCSD), Aldo Bimantoro.
BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu expressed his gratitude to Euromoney for the award. “This award motivates all BTN employees to continue working and performing better in implementing the company’s vision to become The Best Mortgage Bank in Southeast Asia by 2025,” he said on Monday (22/7/2024).
Nixon stated that this award aligns with the company’s target to become an ESG Champion this year. This demonstrates that BTN’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs, particularly related to diversity and inclusion, have been well-implemented and recognized by various institutions, including international media.
For several years, BTN has created an inclusive work environment with a balanced gender workforce. BTN provides broad opportunities for women to occupy top-level management positions and has implemented programs to create a supportive and welcoming work environment through the Respectful Workplace Policy and facilities such as Daycare & Nursery Room.
As of the end of December 2023, BTN had a total of 12,045 employees, with 48% women and 52% men. BTN aims to increase women’s representation in top management to 20% this year and 30% by 2028.
BTN also continues to offer opportunities for job candidates with disabilities to join the company. Nixon stated that BTN targets a proportion of 2% employees with disabilities through special recruitment programs.
The Respectful Workplace Policy, implemented since 2022, has further improved the work environment at BTN, allowing employees to work more productively. This program proves BTN’s seriousness in building a dynamic, friendly, and productive work environment for everyone, regardless of gender or disability, and in preventing discrimination, harassment, and violence.
“The Respectful Workplace Policy includes prevention of sexual harassment, body shaming, and discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations (SARA). These must not exist in our environment and must be understood and implemented,” emphasized Nixon. (*)
